Frequently Asked Questions
Before we begin.
The details couples ask about most—and the honest answers that make planning easier.
When should we start planning our destination wedding?
For the strongest resort and date selection, begin 15–24 months before travel. Shorter timelines can work, particularly for intimate groups, but room inventory and nonstop-flight patterns become more important.
Does Weddings by Alux replace our wedding planner?
No. We lead the destination, resort, room-block and guest-travel strategy. Your resort coordinator or independent wedding planner manages event design and on-site production. We help define responsibilities so nothing important sits between teams.
Do guests have to book through the room block?
Group contracts are built around a committed number of rooms, so the booking pathway matters. We explain the value and deadline clearly while helping guests with legitimate special circumstances.
How much does a destination wedding cost?
There is no responsible universal number. Guest count, destination, resort level, private-event hours, food and beverage, décor, entertainment and vendor rules all shape the total. We compare full scenarios rather than relying on a package headline.
Can you help guests with flights?
Yes. We provide air guidance and can support flight arrangements based on the group plan. For most weddings, guests have different origins and preferences, so individual air often works better than one group flight.
Do you work with families and children?
Absolutely. We shortlist resorts around the real guest list. Dual-concept properties and thoughtful family-friendly luxury resorts can give adults sophisticated spaces without excluding younger guests.
Can we choose a resort that is not on this website?
Yes. The resort collection is an editorial starting point, not a fixed inventory list. We research beyond it whenever your location, style, size or budget calls for another answer.
Do you plan South Asian, multicultural or multi-day weddings?
We can source resorts with the venue flexibility, culinary capability and outside-vendor experience required for complex celebrations. The right property and production team are especially important, so we address those requirements from the beginning.
What happens if travel is disrupted?
We remain available to help interpret options and advocate with travel partners. Travel protection is strongly recommended; its exact benefits depend on the policy selected.
