There is no honest one-number answer

Destination, guest count, resort tier, wedding package, private-event hours, menu choices, décor and outside vendors all change the total. A small villa wedding in Italy and an 80-person all-inclusive celebration in Mexico are different products, even when both are described as luxury destination weddings.

Separate guest travel from couple-hosted events

First understand what each guest is expected to pay for accommodations and travel. Then build the couple’s event budget: ceremony, reception, food and beverage, décor, entertainment, photography, beauty, legal requirements and hosted weekend events.

The headline package is only a starting point

Packages can include core ceremony items but exclude private-event surcharges, premium menus, vendor access, lighting, sound, taxes and service charges. Compare the full scenario, not the brochure price.

Room blocks create both value and responsibility

Group rates and concessions can be meaningful, but contracts may include deposits, minimum pickup or attrition obligations. The right block size protects availability without overexposing the couple.

Where an advisor creates leverage

A specialist can compare realistic total costs, identify contract risk, negotiate group value and help choose a property that fits the guest list—not merely the couple’s room preference.
